Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)” is a notion that goes far beyond environmental education. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) aims to reorient education to empower men and women to make informed choices for environmental integrity, social justice, and financial viability for both present and future generations, whilst respecting cultural diversities (UNESCO, 2014b). The Belgrade Charter was built upon the Stockholm Declaration and adds goals, objectives, and guiding principles of environmental education applications.
